The Winchester Handgun Facility is open to the public and offers three types of programs (must be 16 years or older). The Industrial Centerfire League conducted May through the end of August is separated by the level of ability and is open to teams from area organizations, businesses and law enforcement agencies. Beginner Handgun Training is a class designed for individuals to learn basic shooting skills, proper handling, cleaning and storage of handguns in the home. The training consists of two - 2 1/2 hour sessions with classroom time along with actual use of handguns. Eight-to-eighteen-year-olds can also enroll in Illinois Concealed Carry classes or the Summer Jr. Rifle program.

The Winchester Trap and Skeet Field is open to the public (must be 10 years or older). Facilities include: two trap fields, two skeet fields, one combination trap/skeet field, one combination skeet/sporting clays field, one combination skeet/doubles trap fields, wacky wabbit field and double traps.

Membership in the Wood River Shooting Club is not required to shoot.
