Gordon F. Moore Community Park
Gordon F. Moore Park, located just southeast of the City of Alton, is a 704 acre city park with a wide variety of attractions, sports fields, and gardens. The park includes a nature trail, 25 acres of restored Heartland Prairie, a 13 acre fishing lake stocked by IDNR, Nan Elliot Memorial Rose Garden, Hosta Garden, Oriental Garden, waterfall pond, Veteran's Fountain, kid's interactive fountain, Worker's Statue, Freedom Shrine, the 27-hole Spencer T. Olin Golf Course, a gazebo, and a learning center.
The Park has many sports fields and courts including tennis and pickleball courts, ball diamonds, six picnic areas, multiple playgrounds, soccer/football fields, restrooms, concessions, and bleachers.
Gordon F. Moore's Lloyd Hopkins Field is the home base for the Prospect League Alton River Dragons baseball team- check the events page for game days!

Nan Elliott Memorial Rose Garden
Dr. Robert Elliott donated the funds for this stunning 1 acre rose garden as a memorial to his wife. This All-America Rose Selections accredited garden contains more than 1600 rose bushes, a gazebo, and a carillon (bell tower). The Garden is located on the south side of the park. Bring your own chair to listen to Carillon Concert bell music at 5 PM Memorial Day through September.
Oriental Garden
The funds for this Garden were donated by Alton area doctors. The Garden is located on the south side of the Park with a walkway over the bridge that goes around the pond and past a waterfall and the Pagoda. Colorful Koi fish make the pond their home.
Nature Trail
This 1/4 mile ADA accessible nature trail starts and ends near the Oriental Garden on the south side of the Park. There are approximately 50 different trees and shrubs grouped in areas including native trees, deciduous trees, conifers, and shrubs.
Spencer T. Olin Golf Course
Designed and managed by Arnold Palmer, Spencer T. Olin Golf Course is recognized as one of the finest public golf facilities in the Midwest with a 4 1/2 Star rating by Golf Digest magazine. These 18 hole, par 72 courses are designed to accommodate all levels of play, with an additional 9 hole Learning Center. Carts and lessons are available. A restaurant is also on the premises.
