Abigail's Tap Room at the Ruebel Hotel
Since 1879, the historic Ruebel Hotel has been offering services to Grafton. Abigail’s Tap Room, established after the 2019 flood, serves breakfast, unique burgers, sandwiches, fish, seafood, and more.
Try Abigail’s popular crab soup, a loaded salad, or smoked bourbon BBQ wings and finish your meal with a fresh-baked apple dumpling or made-daily slice of cheesecake. Enjoy the weather and dine on the Ruebel’s back deck overlooking the Mississippi River or go inside and have a drink at the one-of-a-kind historic bar.
The hand-carved hardwood bar in the Ruebel’s restaurant was made and shown at the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair. Saved from fire and multiple floods, the bar is still in use today. Drink one of Abigail’s unique cocktails and keep an eye out for the restaurant’s namesake- a ghost girl who allegedly haunts the property. The Ruebel is purportedly the most haunted hotel in Illinois. Dine in or book one of the stately historic rooms and see for yourself!
