Those adventuring All Around Alton, Illinois are challenged to capture the sights of the Summer season and its vibrant views for the Meeting of the Great Rivers Endless Summer Photo Contest starting June 21 and running through August 7, 2017! There will be two categories: Summer Fun and Scenic Snapshots. Photos submitted will be shared on Facebook @VisitAlton where the public will be invited to vote on their favorite photo. The “People’s Choice” photo will also appear in a featured location inside the 2018 Summer Guide.

Whether you are enjoying refreshing drinks at the area’s restaurants and wineries, dips in the cool waves of Raging Rivers Waterpark or live music, fun festivals & movies at the Liberty Bank Alton Amphitheater, the possibilities are endless.

How to enter

• Email your photo to Info@VisitAlton.com, title the subject as “Photo Contest” and include the following information in the body of the email:
• Your name, mailing address, preferred email address, phone number, title of photo & category. DO NOT FORGET to attach the photo!

Categories & Qualifications

• Summer Fun photos represent your family and friends out and about enjoying the trails, festivals and events All Around Alton, Illinois.
• Must include people.
• Minimum size: 300 dpio File format: JPG
• Scenic Snapshots represent those once in a lifetime sunsets, breathtaking views and scenic surroundings captured by you.
• Minimum size: 300 dpio File format: JPG
• People’s Choice is the photo that receives the most likes in a specified album on Facebook.com/VisitAlton.File format: JPG
  
  

Winning Photos

A judging panel will select the first place photos in the Summer Fun & Scenic Snapshots categories.• The judging panel will select a pool of finalists for the People’s Choice category and the public will select this winner according to which photo in the album receives the most Facebook likes.

Prizes

• Summer Fun: Winning photo will be featured on the cover of the 2018 Meeting of the Great Rivers Spring-Summer Guide and the photographer will receive their photo enlarged to an 8x10 and matted and framed by Picture This & More, a value of $200!

People’s Choice

Your Rights

• You will retain all rights to any photograph you submit – including ownership if applicable. If your image in selected as a winner of the competition, you grant Alton Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau (ARCVB) a nonexclusive right, in perpetuity, to:
  
• Publish the images for ARCVB’s purposes in any format, including on the ARCVB’s website and in ARCVB’s publications or presentations, such as newsletters, brochures, displays, mailings and invitations.• Provide images to media outlets for use in news stories, newsletters, magazines, web pages and the like.• Keep the file provided, and to archive the images on CD or in other electronic forms, so that your photos can be used to support our mission and be properly credited.

As conditions of this permission, the Alton Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau shall credit all photographs with a caption containing the photographer’s first and last name.
